Among its selection of designer chairs, Diiiz presents several reproductions of the Danish designer Hans Wegner, one of which is the CH23 wooden chair.
Emerging in the second half of the 20th century, Hans Wegner is one of the most prestigious designers in the history of Scandinavian furniture.
He founded his own design studio in 1943. Hans Wegner loved working with wood most of all in the production of chairs. He created more than 500 chairs during his life, most of which were wooden chairs.
The first collection of wooden chairs conceived by Hans Wegner was created in 1950 for Carl Hanssen & Son. This collection of CH23 designer chairs was made of four wooden chairs. The CH22 chair, the CH24 wooden chair, the CH25 chair and the CH23 wooden chair with cord.
If today the most often produced wooden chair from this collection is the CH24 chair, also known as the Wishbone chair, then the Hans Wegner CH23 chair was the most famous to come from Hans Wegner’s collection of CH chairs.
This popularity is self-explanatory, with the clean lines that make its curves, making it a classic chair which integrates seamlessly with a 1950’s decorating style. The other CH chairs from the Hans Wegner chair collection were as revolutionary for the time period.
