Gino Sarfatti (1912-1985)

The eldest of three brothers, Gino Sarfatti, is a famous italian designer born in Venice in 1912.
He graduated as an aviation and marine engineer from the University of Genes. In 1939, he started his career in the lighting business. He created the Arteluce company with a few other people and quickly became the genereal director. During his 30 years in the business he created over 400 lamps and was constantly searching for new innovative ideas.
Gino Sarfatti and Arteluce won numerous awards including the Golden Compass in 1954 and the Honorary Diploma of the Milan Triennale in 1955.
In 1950, Gino Sarfatti, created the ARCON company in Rome which was immediately successful.
