Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988)

« The search of the organic form »

Isamu Noguchi is a Japanese-American artist, designer and sculptor born in Los Angeles in 1904.

He studied sculpture alongside his medical studies. He later attended to the Leonardo da Vinci Art School in New York.

Isamu Noguchi was fascinated by organic forms. The desire to re-discover a relationship with nature led him to go to the sources of his eastern culture. In 1931, he went to Kyoto to learn pottery, the use of clay and brush drawing.

Noguchi also touched on the world of dance and created his first stage set for Martha Graham.
